​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Dec 21: At a time when gang rape of a girl before his boyfriend in the Dhauli area has raised concern on the women safety, a minor girl has been reportedly gang raped in Bhubaneswar a couple of days ago that came to light today.

The Saheed Nagar Police on Sunday arrested two accused in this connection who allegedly sexually assaulted her on pretext of providing a job.

According to the Police, the accused allegedly lured the minor hailing from Puri to Bhubaneswar on the pretext of providing her a data entry operator job. Accordingly, the girl resided in a rented house in Bhubaneswar where the accused raped her on December 18.

Following the incident, the victim knoked the Saheed Nagar Police Station, where she lodged a complaint briefing her ordeal before the police.

Acting on the complaint, police registered a case, arrested two accused persons from Puri and sent them to judicial remand.

On the other hand, the victim was sent to hospital for examination & legal-medico compliances in this connection. At the same time, a scientific team collected substantial evidence from the spot.

Further investigation is underway to rule out connivance of other aides in the crime, said police.
