Phulbani shivers at 4°C, normal life disrupted in Odisha due to intense cold wave

Bhubaneswar, Dec 21: Normal life in Odisha was disrupted on Monday with the night temperature falling below 10 degree Celsius at 10 places. Hilly town Phulbani recorded 4°C followed by Jharsuguda (5.8), Daringbadi (6), Angul (6.6), Koraput (7), Bhawanipatna (7.8), Balangir (8.8), Boudh (9), Keonjhar (9.3), Sonepur (9.4). Similarly, many places recorded temperature at and below 15 degree Celsius. Balasore recorded 11.7°C, Chandbali (11.2), Paradip (13.8), Gopalpur (14.3), Puri (15), Sambalpur (10.8), Hirakud (10.6), Talcher (10.4), Titlagarh (10), Malkangiri (11) and Nayagarh (11.2). Besides, the twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar also witnessed a fall in the night temperature at 11°C and 12.3°C, respectively. The night temperature may fall by 1-2°C during the next 24 hours in the coastal districts and by 3-4°C over the districts of interior Odisha during next three days, the IMD said.
