Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Para Swimming Championship 2025–26 was successfully conducted at the Aquatic Centre, Kalinga Stadium, here on the 25th and 26th of October 2025. More than 140 para-athletes from across the state participated in the event, showcasing their skills, determination, and sporting spirit.

The championship was inaugurated by Amit Kumar Nayak, Deputy Secretary, Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, Nayak lauded the efforts and resilience of the para-athletes and extended his best wishes for their future achievements.

Kamala Kanta Ratha, President of the Odisha Para Sports Association, congratulated all the medal winners and participants for their outstanding performances. He reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to promoting and developing para sports across Odisha with continuous support and encouragement to athletes.

Those who perform exceptionally well in this championship will represent Odisha at the XXV National Para Swimming Championships 2025–26, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from November 15th to 18th, 2025.

Men’s Category: Dinesh Mohan Majhi from Balangir (S-10 Class) – Won three Gold Medals in 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, and 100m Backstroke events.

Akash Banchhor from Nuapada (S-5 Class) – Secured three Gold Medals in 200m Individual Medley, 50m Backstroke, and 100m Backstroke events.

Women’s Category: Monali Swain from Kendrapada(S-8 Class) – Clinched three Gold Medals in 100m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, and 100m Backstroke events.

Kabita Dalai from Ganjam (S- 6 Class) – Achieved three Gold Medals in 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke, and 100m Freestyle events.
