Lahore, July 13: Perhaps considering the amount of workload and chances of getting injured, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused young pacer Naseem Shah a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in The Hundred 2024.
As per reports in a section of Pakistan media, Naseem has been refused a NOC to prevent him from any injury as he is a vital cog in the PCB's scheme of things.
The PCB might have also taken into account the fact that Naseem underwent surgery in October 2023 to treat his shoulder injury. Due to the surgery, he was ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2023, which saw Pakistan crash out in the group stage.
Naseem was drafted in for £125,000 by Birmingham Phoenix during The Hundred Draft 2024, which was held earlier this year in March. But, now Phoenix may have to make do without one of their overseas star players.
The Hundred tournament is scheduled to start from July 24.
