Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: Bhubaneswar is gearing up for the return of its much-loved Patha Utsav, with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) planning to host the event in December. Ahead of that, a Street Carnival will be organized at Master Canteen Square on November 16, marking the beginning of the festivities.
The carnival, being jointly organized by the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and BMC, will run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. It will feature a variety of attractions, including 3D art displays, fashion shows, Zumba sessions, and thematic exhibitions. If successful, similar events will be rolled out in other parts of the city in the coming months.
BMC officials said that the Patha Utsav is tentatively scheduled for late December and the first week of January, and will be organized across three zones of Bhubaneswar. The selection of the event management agency will be finalized in an upcoming preparatory meeting, a senior BMC official informed.
Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has launched the Ekamra Walk from today, coinciding with the Indian Roads Congress (IRC). Visiting engineers from across the country will take part in the heritage walk to experience Odisha’s art, culture, and architectural legacy.
In addition, BDA is also planning to introduce a food festival and a night market, adding more vibrancy to the city’s cultural calendar.
