Bhubaneswar, October 26: In an effort to boost cybersecurity awareness, the Odisha Police has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign with the help of 16 specially equipped Cyber Raths (Cyber Chariots). These Raths are currently touring both urban and rural areas, engaging citizens in crucial conversations about online safety.

Equipped with LED panels that broadcast informative video messages, the Cyber Raths have become a focal point of attention, particularly among students. This initiative has sparked a noticeable increase in public interest and knowledge regarding cybersecurity.

Since its inception, over 2.5 lakh people have actively participated in rallies, seminars, workshops, and public meetings organized as part of this drive. The campaign aims to create a safer online environment for all citizens.

The cybersecurity drive was officially launched on October 18, 2025, by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. During the event, all 16 Cyber Raths were flagged off, marking the beginning of this state-wide initiative.

The campaign is being supported by all 33 police districts in Odisha, with programs taking place in schools, colleges, and public venues across the state. Over 50 inauguration events have already been held. Additionally, pamphlets detailing essential cybersecurity tips are being distributed at strategic locations, while LED screens continue to inform the public about key safety measures.

In Puri district, a walkathon drew thousands of participants, while in Mayurbhanj, local artists performed street plays on cybersecurity, captivating large audiences. In Balasore, more than 20,000 citizens took part in the awareness activities, and in Kalahandi and Sambalpur, over 15,000 and 12,000 people respectively joined the initiative.

The campaign has been widely lauded for its role in enhancing public awareness and for highlighting the proactive stance of the Odisha Police in ensuring a safer cyber space for all.
