Bhubaneswar, May 27: Passengers travelling on Mo Bus routes in the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar continue to face a persistent threat of theft, with yet another incident coming to light. This time, a passenger lost Rs 60,000 while en route to AIIMS Hospital to seek treatment for his 14-year-old son.
The victim, identified as Brundaban Sahoo from Hinjilikatu area in Odisha’s Ganjam district, was travelling to AIIMS Hospital to support his son Bibhuprashad's treatment at the Neurology Department. Brundaban had gathered the funds after returning from his village. However, his journey took a distressing turn when he discovered the money missing upon reaching his destination.
Brundaban boarded Mo Bus route no. 19, carrying the money in his pocket. The bus became crowded as it approached Khandagiri, and it was only upon disembarking at the AIIMS bus stop that he realized the theft had occurred.
In a state of distress, Brundaban promptly reported the incident to the Khandagiri Police station. Authorities initiated an investigation, scrutinizing CCTV footage from the Mo Bus to identify the culprit responsible for the theft.
