Paris, Aug 7: Can India win a wrestling medal in Paris Olympics 2024? The chances are very bleak.
After Vinesh Phogat's disqualification in 50-kg category, there was more heartbreaking news from the wrestling ring for the Indians on Wednesday.
Making her Olympics debut, in women's 53kg wrestling, Indian wrestler Antim Panghal lost her Round of 16 bout to Turkey's Zeynet Yetgil.
In Tokyo Olympics, Vinesh Phogat competed in 53-kg category. But lost her fight in the quarterfinals.
On Wednesday, even the Indian women's Table Tennis team comprising Manika Batra, Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath failed to beat Germany and made an exit. The Germans won 3-1 in the quarterfinals.
However, Indian golfer Aditi Ashok was Tied 1st after 14 holes. She was the Silver medallist in Hagzhou Asian Games. The other Indian golfer Diksha Dagar was Tied7th. But this was only Round 1. There will be three more rounds during the course of the next three days, as per the golf schedule in Paris Games 2024.
