Paris, July 31: On her 26th birthday, India's Table Tennis star Sreeja Akula booked a berth in the Paris Olympics Women's singles pre-quarterfinals on Wednesday

After defeating Jian Zeng of Singapore, Sreeja joined the other Indian Manika Batra in the Women's singles pre-quarters.

She eventually prevailed over her opponent with a final score-line 9-11, 12-10, 11-4, 11-5, 10-12, 12-10..

Sreeja is now the second Indian ever to reach Table Tennis pre-quarters at an Olympics. The only other Indian to have attained the feat is Manika Batra, who just did the same only a few days back.
