Paris, Aug 3: Can shooter Manu Bhaker win her third Olympics medal?
Can archers Deepika Kumari and Bhajan Kaur qualify for the finals?
India struggling at 48th position in the medals tally, will be pinning its hope on these three key performers on Saturday, the 8th day of Paris Olympics 2024.
Earlier on Friday, Manu, who has already won two Bronze medals in the Games 2024, finished second in women's 25 pistol qualification shooting a total of 590 (294 in precision, 296 in rapid) out of a possible 600 and thus reached her third final in Paris Olympics.
But Manu's compatriot Esha Singh finished a distant 18th and didn’t advance into the final.
However, on Saturday, apart from Manu Bhaker, archers Deepika Kumari and Bhajan Kaur may hit headlines. Deepika and Bhajan will be taking part in women's individual event with an aim to qualify for the finals. Later in the night, boxer Nishant Dev will be aiming to enter the semifinals of the men’s 71kg category and confirm a medal.
