New Delhi, Jan 24: Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has unveiled special travel arrangements to ensure smooth movement for commuters and spectators heading to Kartavya Path.

As the national capital prepares for the grand Republic Day parade, metro services across all lines will begin earlier than usual. DMRC has confirmed that metro trains will start operating at 3:00 AM on Republic Day to assist early travelers attending the ceremony.

Trains will run at shorter intervals during the early morning hours to avoid overcrowding and guarantee timely access to the parade venue. To facilitate smoother travel, metro trains will operate every 15 minutes from 3:00 am to 6:00 am. After 6:00 am, services will return to the regular timetable.

However, due to heightened security measures, certain metro station gates will be temporarily closed on January 23 and January 26. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys carefully, check the status of station gates, and follow instructions from metro authorities.

The affected stations are:

  1. Central Secretariat
  1. Udyog Bhawan
  1. Lal Quila
  1. Jama Masjid
  1. Delhi Gate
  1. ITO

During the restricted hours, specific gates at these stations will be closed:

  1. Central Secretariat: Gates No. 03 & 04
  1. Udyog Bhawan: Gate No. 01
  1. Lal Quila: Gates No. 03 & 04
  1. Jama Masjid: Gates No. 03 & 04
  1. Delhi Gate: Gates No. 01, 04 & 05
  1. ITO: Gates No. 03, 04 & 06

Commuters are encouraged to use alternative nearby stations or gates where possible. DMRC has also confirmed that parking facilities at all metro stations will remain open, providing added convenience for those who choose to park their vehicles and use the metro to reach the celebration venues.

Passengers are urged to plan their travel, adhere to security guidelines, and stay informed through official DMRC channels for any updates.

These special arrangements are designed to ensure a safe, seamless, and hassle-free Republic Day celebration for everyone in the capital.
