Paris, Aug 2: Two-time Olympic medal winner PV Sindhu after her defeat against China's He Bing Jiao in Paris Olympics 2024 admitted that she could have checked her errors.

Sindhu appeared totally off colour against the world No 9 on Thursday, as she lost 21-19 and 21-14 in just 56 minutes.

But she stated she has no regrets regarding her preparations for the Games, as she did everything she could to be in the best shape. But admitted that defence let her down in the pre-quarterfinal against He Bing Jiao.

The Tokyo Games Silver medallist Sindhu had to suffer due to unending unforced errors in the second set, which allowed Bing Jiao to run away with the match.

Worth mentioning that Sindhu in her bid to win a consecutive third Olympics medal had a training camp in Germany and also joined forces with mentor Prakash Padukone for better preparation.

After her defeat, the 29-year-old Indian stated that she would take a break and then decide if she can hope for another Olympic journey. Because four years is a long time and she could not commit now if she can play the next Olympics in the USA in 2028, Sindhu said.

However, she admitted that despite her defeat on Thursday, her journey in badminton and in Olympics has been wonderful. She added she had seen ups and downs in her career, but she always believed in hard work.
