Paris, Aug 10: The Court for of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is expected to pronounce its verdict on Indian woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat's appeal for awarding a joint Silver medal to her, is expected to be around 9.30 pm Saturday, sources said.

Earlier, after being disqualified for being overweight by 100 grams prior to her Gold medal fight on Thursday, wrestler Vinesh Phogat made an appeal before the CAS.

From making history she was heartbroken and even quit wrestling. She was set to create history by becoming the first ever females wrestler from India to contest for Gold medal, but on the day of her bout she was disqualified from the entire event meaning she was not even qualified to get the guaranteed Silver medal.

Reacting on the issue, Indian government decided to provide legal assistance to Vinesh to present her case before the CAS.

After her disqualification, Vinesh announced her retirement from wrestling. But later she turned to CAS in hopes of being awarded a joint-Silver medal. Senior advocate Harish Salve agreed to represent Vinesh at the CAS, sources added.
