New Delhi, Sep 2: India's performance in the recent Paris Olympics 2024 might not have been very encouraging.

But the Indian contingent in the ongoing Paralympics 2024 has not disheartened so far. They have proved their mettle and competitiveness with better podium finish.

A Gold medal in shooting by para-shooter Avani Lekhara and two more Silvers by India so far, has lifted the spirit of the Indians. Indian have clinched four Bronze medals too.

Hopefully, Indian contingent will win more medals in Paris Paralympics soon. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Nishad Kumar, who won a Silver medal in the men's high jump T47 event.

It can be recalled that Nishad, who also won a Silver in Tokyo three years ago, achieved his season-best performance with a leap of 2.04 meters, earning him the second spot in Paris.

In his official X handle PM Modi hailed Nishad for his "remarkable achievement" at the ongoing Paralympics 2024.
