Puri, Dec 17: A photo featuring Lord Jagannath and His siblings on the Ratna Singhasan at Puri Jagannath Temple has gone viral on social media, prompting concerns about the temple’s security.

The image, shared on Instagram by user ‘ashirbad945’, appears to be a collage, blending a photo of the individual taken outside the temple with the image of the deities on the Ratna Singhasan. The holy trinity, along with Lord Sudarshan, is visible in the post.

The incident has sparked outrage, with many questioning how the photo was taken in the restricted area of the temple despite existing security protocols and prohibitory orders. This breach has raised serious concerns about the safety and integrity of the sacred site.

It remains unclear how the individual was able to access the temple premises with a smartphone, as the area is heavily guarded.

The district administration and police have yet to issue a statement regarding the incident, leaving the matter under investigation. This breach highlights growing concerns over the security measures at one of India’s most revered temples.

Similar breaches have occurred in the past, raising questions about the temple's security protocols.

Earlier, a visitor illegally filmed the sacred rituals during the Rath Yatra, which prompted outrage from devotees and temple authorities.

These incidents highlight recurring lapses in security at the temple, where restricted areas are often accessed by individuals with smartphones, flouting the rules. Despite the presence of security personnel and surveillance systems, these breaches continue to occur, sparking concerns about the safety and sanctity of the revered site.

The authorities are yet to provide clarification on how such breaches are happening and the measures being taken to prevent them.
