Al Falah University Faces Twin Scandals: NAAC Notice for Fake Accreditation and Deepening Terror Probe

New Delhi: Al Falah University, already facing intense scrutiny over its links to the deadly Delhi Red Fort blast probe, is now in even deeper trouble. The university has been served a show-cause notice by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for making false claims about its academic credentials.

The notice, issued on Thursday, targets the Faridabad-based university for misleading the public. According to NAAC, Al Falah University had brazenly claimed on its official website that two of its colleges—Al Falah School of Engineering and Technology and Al Falah School of Education and Training—were "Graded A by NAAC."

NAAC has called this claim "absolutely wrong and misleading." In its formal notice, the accreditation body clarified that Al-Falah University has neither been accredited by NAAC nor has it even applied for the first cycle of assessment. This NAAC false accreditation claim is a serious breach and a potential higher education scam, designed to dupe students and parents.

This revelation is a significant student admission warning. Accreditation is a key marker of quality, and families, including many from Odisha, rely on these ratings to choose a university.

This academic scandal comes while Al Falah University is already at the center of a major national security investigation. The Delhi Red Fort blast probe led investigators to the university after a shocking discovery. Around 3,000 kg of explosives and ammunition were found at the rented accommodation of a faculty member.

Furthermore, the university terror link was solidified when a DNA test confirmed that another doctor from the university, Umar Un Nabi Bhat, was driving the car filled with explosives that caused the blast, killing 13 people.

With investigations into both a devastating terror plot and a bold academic fraud, the future of Al Falah University looks uncertain. Authorities are now looking closely at the institution's operations from all angles.
