Kuala Lumpur [Malaysia], June 1: Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, currently part of an all-party Indian delegation visiting Southeast Asia, strongly condemned Pakistan for what she described as its ongoing support for terrorism.

During the delegation's visit to Malaysia, BJP MP Sarangi said Pakistan is actively working against peace and stability in India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.

“This is the final leg of our international tour. We have already visited four countries before arriving in Malaysia. Today, we interacted with members of the Indian diaspora and discussed India’s firm stance on terrorism,” she said. “Pakistan has been involved in terrorist activities for a long time. It doesn’t want peace within India's borders and is disturbed by the development in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan is nurturing, nourishing, and promoting terrorism.”

Sarangi added that in all five countries visited — Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore — there was near-unanimous agreement against terrorism. “Everyone we met emphasized the need for united global efforts to combat terrorism,” she noted.

The cross-party delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, includes representatives from several political parties: BJP MPs Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, and Hemang Joshi; TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee; CPI(M) MP John Brittas; and Congress leader Salman Khurshid, among others. The team also visited the Ramakrishna Mission in Kuala Lumpur and paid floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda.

The visit is part of India's diplomatic efforts to brief international partners on its counter-terrorism measures following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Over 100 terrorists from groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were reportedly neutralized in the operation.
