New Delhi, May 3: While the NIA and Indian Armed Forces are in a hurry to reach at the terrorists who wreaked panic in the Pahalgam attack, six key suspects involved in the attack have reportedly left for Sri Lanka.
The information alerted the Indian Army and the Sri Lanka Police on Saturday after intelligence wings of Sri Lanka got a security tip off from India that some key suspects of the Pahalgam attack, are leaving for Colombo in a Chennai-Colombo flight in the morning.
Acting on the inputs, a special search operation was conducted at the airport in Colombo to rule out the signature of the suspects involved in the Pahalgam terror attack who were anticipated to be on board the flight.
According to sources, a massive search operation was undertaken at the Colombo airport by the security forces this noon amid suspicion that suspects in the Pahalgam terror attack had reached Sri Lanka on board the flight from Chennai, to evade India's stern action.
Apart from the security cover in and around the airport, vigilance was heightened in the Colombo City, to deal with probable exigencies, said reports.
However, no confirmation has been yet received from the Srilankan Army, the National Investigation Agency(NIA) or the government India in this connection.
