Delhi Police nab gangster who supplied guns for attacks on comedian’s Canadian restaurant.

In a major crackdown on international organized crime syndicates operating from Indian soil, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully apprehended a key operative linked to the notorious Goldy Brar network. The arrested individual, identified as Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, is alleged to be the logistical mastermind behind the multiple firing incidents at comedian Kapil Sharma’s business establishment, Kap's Cafe, located in Surrey, Canada.

According to law enforcement officials, Sekhon had crossed international borders and entered India shortly after the violent episodes occurred overseas. His run from the law ended on Friday when the Crime Branch intercepted him. During the arrest, officers recovered a cache of advanced weaponry, including a Chinese-made pistol and live ammunition, suggesting he remained an active threat.

The Role of the Accused

The investigation reveals a disturbing depth of involvement. Sekhon reportedly confessed to being the "quartermaster" for the attacks. He did not pull the trigger himself but was responsible for the critical infrastructure of the crime. He admitted to procuring the firearms and arranging the getaway vehicle used by the shooters to target the comedian’s restaurant.

Intelligence sources indicate that Sekhon was flagged after Delhi Police dismantled a local arms trafficking ring, arresting four other individuals. This trail led them directly to Sekhon, who is now being interrogated by both local police and central agencies to map out the full extent of the supply chain and his communication with handlers abroad.

A Timeline of Terror

The targeting of Kapil Sharma’s venture, Kap's Cafe, has been persistent since its inauguration in July of this year.

July 10, 2025: The first attack occurred mere days after the cafe opened, with gunfire shattering the windows.

August 7, 2025: A second round of shooting forced the establishment to close its doors temporarily.

October 2025: Despite reopened operations with heightened security, shooters targeted the venue for a third time.

While no injuries were reported in these incidents, the psychological impact was significant. Following the attacks, a gangster identified as Goldy Dhillon, along with Kulveer Sidhu, utilized social media platforms to claim responsibility. In a menacing video post, Dhillon stated they held no grudge against the public but were targeting specific individuals, warning Bollywood figures to be cautious of their affiliations.

Next Steps in Investigation

The authorities are now meticulously examining Sekhon’s digital footprint to understand how weapons are being smuggled into India—potentially via drone drops—and how he coordinated the Canadian attacks while moving between countries. The focus remains on dismantling the wider Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar nexus that continues to threaten high-profile targets.
