Cuttack, May 13: The Orissa High Court on Friday issued an interim stay order on fresh registration of residential flats in case they are not handed over to the concerned flat owners' association. Hearing a petition of a beneficiary, Bimalendu Pradhan, a division bench of the Orissa High Court led by Chief Justice, S Muralidhar along with Justice Radhakrushna Pattnaik issued the ruling for the flat/ apartment owners. The order said that no fresh registration of buildings or apartments will be allowed if the builder or developer breaches the law of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority(RERA) in any way. Accordingly, the Inspector General of Registration has been instructed not to take up any new registration till the further order and ensure no deal regarding the sale and purchase of new properties. At the same time, the bench has directed the state government to comply the proceedings of a meeting with the IGR. The next hearing has been scheduled on June 22.
