Balasore, Nov 12: Balasore police apprehended two notorious gangsters on Wednesday in a raid at the district's industrial area. The authorities seized a pistol, a magazine, and two knives from the arrested individuals.

The suspects have been identified as Kailash Das, alias Kuan, and Animesh Ghosh. Both men have a long history of criminal activity and are involved in several cases throughout the district.

According to Balasore Superintendent of Police (SP) Pratyush Diwaker, the duo is known for their violent and unlawful behavior. "Animesh Ghosh has 32 criminal cases against him, while Kailash Das has over 25. They are charged with serious offenses, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, and threatening local businesses for protection money," said SP Diwaker.

The arrests followed a well-coordinated operation by a special police team, which included senior officers, after intelligence revealed the duo was entering Balasore from another state with plans to engage in further criminal activities. Acting on this tip-off, the police tracked and captured them early Wednesday morning in the industrial area.

"The two will be presented in court, and our investigation into their criminal network, associates, and financiers is ongoing. Our goal is to dismantle their entire gang," added SP Diwaker.

This operation is being recognized as a significant move to combat organized crime in Balasore, with authorities vowing to continue their efforts to eliminate criminal networks in the region.
