Cuttack, Oct 10: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Monday filed a writ petition in Orissa High Court over the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) merit list dispute challenging the decision of the single-judge bench.
The bench comprising acting Chief Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi and Justice M S Raman began the preliminary hearing of the petition on Monday. The next hearing will be held after two weeks.
Notably, the single-judge bench of Justice A K Mohapatra had quashed the merit list published by OPSC on May 19.
The OPSC had filed a writ petition challenging the order. The High Court dismissed the petition on July 31 and kept its earlier order intact.
Kabita Jena and four others, who were shortlisted in the OPSC's merit list, filed a petition challenging the order. The High Court upheld the single-judge bench order and clarified that the order could not be implemented till the next order. The OPSC has further filed a writ petition.
