Operation green: 92 acres of ganja cultivation destroyed in Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Nov 24: In a special drive against illicit cultivation of ganja, police along with excise officials and forest department officials destroyed around 92 acres of cannabis cultivation in the Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri district. Acting on a tip-off, police and excise officials conducted a raid at Kamarguda and Badput villages under Doraguda panchayat of Chitrakonda block and destroyed the ganja cultivation spread across 92 acres of land. The estimated worth of the destroyed crops is over Rs 13 crore, informed an official. Worth mentioning, police along with the excise officials have launched ‘Operation green clean’ aiming to curb the smuggling of ganja in the state.
