Dhenkanal, Nov 24: Bijay Kumar Prusty, a former Ward Attendant of Meramundali Government Hospital under the office of the CDMO, Dhenkanal, has been convicted in a vigilance corruption case. Prusty, who had already been dismissed from service, was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance under Sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, along with Sections 468, 471, 420, and 120-B of the IPC.

Investigations revealed that he had submitted a forged Class-VII mark sheet to secure his appointment as a Ward Attendant.

On Tuesday, the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Dhenkanal found him guilty and sentenced him to three years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine.
