Bhubaneswar, Sept 7: Based on specific intelligence, officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) carried out the search of a premise at Bhubaneswar and recovered 2.465 kg of foreign marked gold in the form of gold biscuits and ten tola bars.
Investigations revealed that the gold was illegally smuggled into the country. Accordingly, the gold was seized and one person was arrested in terms of the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.
The arrested person has been remanded to judicial custody and further investigations in this matter is underway.
