Berhampur, Jul 1: Doctors affiliated with the Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) have launched a work stoppage agitation demanding the fulfillment of their 10-point charter of demands. After years of pressing the state government to address their grievances, the doctors have now resorted to a complete cessation of work.
The impact of the strike was clearly visible at Berhampur City Hospital, where routine medical services were disrupted due to the absence of OMSA doctors. Patients and their attendants were seen facing inconvenience as healthcare services were affected.
The protesting doctors said they have been raising their demands for several years, but the government has failed to take concrete steps to resolve the issues. Left with no alternative, they decided to intensify their agitation by suspending work.
The situation at the hospital remains tense, with patients hoping for an early resolution to the standoff between the doctors and the government. Authorities are closely monitoring the developments as the strike continues.
