OMC Launches Strategic "Train the Trainer" Initiative
The Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd. (OMC) has embarked on a significant institutional training initiative with the launch of its "Train the Trainer" program. The inaugural session, held on June 11th and 12th at the corporation's Head Office in Bhubaneswar, marks the beginning of a structured effort to build a robust internal training framework. The launch was attended by senior OMC leadership, including the Directors of Operations, HR, and Finance, signaling strong organizational support for the program.
The primary objective of this initiative is to create a skilled cadre of certified internal trainers. These individuals, drawn from various functional areas, will then serve as internal resource persons, tasked with training and mentoring other members of the OMC workforce. This approach is designed to embed a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the corporation. The first phase of the program has commenced with 37 officials from OMC's regional units and its Head Office.
The training itself is structured to be highly interactive and practical. Participants will engage in a series of experiential learning modules, leadership simulations, and targeted skill-building exercises. The curriculum focuses on developing core competencies in effective communication, behavioral change management, and leadership. The program emphasizes the practical application of these skills to ensure that the newly certified trainers can effectively facilitate capacity building and compliance orientation within their respective domains.
This "Train the Trainer" program is being implemented in a structured, three-phased approach. This ensures that officials across the entire corporation will be progressively covered in a systematic manner. By investing in the development of its own people to become mentors and educators, OMC is building a sustainable and scalable model for employee growth. This strategic focus on internal expertise is set to strengthen the overall capabilities of the workforce, ensuring that the organization remains agile, skilled, and well-equipped for future challenges.
