Bhubaneswar, June 6: The officials, who were in forefront during the BJD government, are now in fear as the BJP has promised in poll campaigning to abolish 'officer raj' in Odisha.
Earlier, in several Assembly session, the opposition BJP has protested the 'officer raj' system in the state.
The BJP had made 'officer raj' an agenda during poll campaign and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while addressing an election meeting in Odisha had said that when bureaucracy takes over democracy, it results in dictatorship, corruption, exploitation of people and mafia raj.
‘Officer Raj’ in Odisha for the last 25 years has dented governance and pushed the state back by 50 years, people now have the opportunity to vote against 'officer raj', he added.
Similarly, veteran state BJP leaders like Dharmendra Pradhan, Baijayant Panda, Aparajita Sarangi, party president Manmohan Samal had targeted some officials of the CMO for engaging themselves in BJD campaigning.
The Election Commission of India suspended senior IPS oficer DS Kutte and Ashish Singh had faced its ire for working in favour of the ousted BJD government.
The BJP leaders have identified a list of senior officials who were very close to the BJD government, according to party sources.
