Puri, July 14: The government deployed Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team to Puri Srimandir on Sunday to assist in opening of the Shri Jagannath’s Ratna Bhandar.
The team entered to Shree Jagannath Temple in the morning with essential safety and security logistics which will be essentially utilized during the inventory of the underground treasury of the temple, in case of exigency.
Temple sources said the ODRAF contingent would take a primary survey of the outer Ratna Bhandar, to ensure safe entry of the inventory teams. Apart from it, the team will be present on the spot during the entire process of recovery and assessment of the gems and jewels treasured in the inner and the innermost cellars of the Ratna Bhandar, to deal with untoward situations.
Worth mentioning, the Ratna Bhandar of Shri Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri is scheduled to be opened at 1.28 PM today, after almost 45 years.
