JD(U) leader calls Nitish Kumar 'tiger' ahead of Friday's vote count

As Bihar waits anxiously for the Bihar election result 2025 this Friday, the political drama in Patna has taken a cinematic turn. A large JD(U) poster has appeared outside the party headquarters featuring Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the famous Bollywood dialogue, "Tiger abhi zinda hai" (The tiger is still alive).

This bold message was reportedly displayed by former Bihar minister and JD(U) leader Ranjit Sinha. The poster doesn't just stop at the 'tiger' reference; it also praises Kumar as the "Protector of Dalits, Mahadalits, backward classes, upper castes, and minorities."

This act of confidence comes after a tough campaign where opponents, particularly RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, repeatedly raised questions about Nitish Kumar’s health. Yadav had previously shared videos of the CM’s "bizarre antics" and openly questioned if he was "mentally healthy" enough to govern.

There were also rumours of a rift within the NDA alliance, as critics pointed out Kumar's absence from some of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rallies.

However, BJP's Bihar co-ordinator, Dharmendra Pradhan, strongly dismissed these claims. Pradhan, a senior BJP leader familiar to audiences in Odisha, clarified that the alliance was strong. He stated that PM Modi and Nitish Kumar attended multiple government events together right before the campaign began. Pradhan emphasized that all NDA leaders, including the PM and Kumar, launched the campaign together in Samastipur.

This confidence from the JD(U) seems to be backed by exit polls Bihar. Most predictions suggest a sweeping victory for the NDA. The News18 Mega Exit Poll, for instance, projected 55-65 seats for the BJP and 60-70 seats for the JD(U), while the RJD is expected to get 50-60 seats.

Nitish Kumar, already the state's longest-serving Chief Minister with a record nine oaths of office, appears ready to continue his streak. The "Tiger" poster is a clear sign that the JD(U) believes the hunt is over and victory is assured.
