Bhubaneswar, April 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said Odisha’s identity and language are in danger, as he pitched for a chance to serve the people of the state.

"Odisha’s self-identity is in danger. Odia language is under threat. I don't think that the people of Odisha will be able to tolerate this for long," Modi said while giving an interview to Network18.

“It has so much of resources that today Odisha could have been the richest state of India. But what kind of condition has been created?" PM Modi asked.

He said that BJP should get a chance to serve Odisha to take the people of the state to great heights. The PM, however, acknowledged the BJD's 'issue-based' support. Odisha will witness general and assembly elections simultaneously. The elections will be held in four phases.
