Bhubaneswar, Nov 12: Odisha-based startup BonV Aero has made headlines with the introduction of Air Orca, India’s first fully autonomous logistics drone, showcased at CV Raman Global University in Bhubaneswar.
This cutting-edge drone features an electronic distributed propulsion system and is engineered to operate under extreme conditions, demonstrating its capabilities at altitudes over 19,000 feet. After being inducted into the Indian Army earlier this year, Air Orca is now preparing for commercial production.
Designed for high-altitude military logistics and disaster response, the drone boasts an operational range of 10 kilometers and a flight time of up to 45 minutes. Its innovative design allows it to deliver essential supplies in challenging terrains, making it an invaluable tool for emergency situations.
The launch has garnered attention not only for its technological advancements but also for its backing by prominent U.S. venture capitalist Tim Draper, an early investor in companies like Tesla. This development positions Odisha as a burgeoning hub for technological innovation, paving the way for future advancements in logistics and drone technology.
