Odisha’s 29 police personnel to receive prestigious awards on Republic Day 2025

Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: In a moment of pride for Odisha, the Ministry of Home Affairs has selected 29 police personnel from the state to receive prestigious police medals under various categories for their exceptional services. These awards will be conferred on the occasion of Republic Day 2025, honoring the tireless dedication of these officers in their respective fields.
As per the official notification released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, a total of 942 personnel across the nation—comprising police, fire service, home guard & civil defence, and correctional services—have been nominated for the Gallantry Medal, President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), and Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM). Of these, 29 personnel from Odisha will be felicitated, reflecting the state’s significant contribution to maintaining law, order, and public safety.
Breakdown of awards for Odisha Police personnel
The 29 personnel selected from Odisha will be awarded in several categories, with six officers receiving the Gallantry Medal (GM), two honored with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), and 11 others to be presented with the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) for their exceptional work in the police service.
