Jharsuguda, Jan 3: In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly beaten to death by his friends during a feast in Laikera area of Odisha’s Jharsuguda district late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Bipin Bhoi (25).
As per reports, the incident took place at Patrapali village under Laikera police limits the district during a feast arranged by Bipin and his friends.
A heated exchange of words ensued between them over some issue. Later, it took a violent turn when Bipin’s friends thrashed him with a stick in a fit of rage. As a result, he sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot.
Upon getting the information, police rushed to the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
The cops have also detained six persons for questioning in this connection.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
