Odisha launches revolutionary state-owned emergency response mobility application
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi officially introduced India’s first state-owned travel security platform in Bhubaneswar on August 31, 2026. Designed to transform urban transport, this application integrates emergency response tools directly into everyday transit routines. Launching on Local Self-Government Day, this initiative targets secure travel for everyone across the state. This move builds upon Odisha's growing reputation for developing citizen-centric digital governance solutions over the last decade. Passengers and drivers can now access immediate help without navigating complex digital menus. Developers prioritized quick reaction times by incorporating a Shake & Alert function. Users simply shake their mobile devices to activate an instant SOS signal, bypassing the need to unlock screens during stressful situations. People can automatically dial 112, share live GPS locations with designated contacts, and record audio if threatened. Once the passenger reaches their destination securely, they can close the alert by marking the ride as safe.
Empowering Vulnerable Travelers
State leadership highlighted how modern technology must protect vulnerable demographics, particularly women and senior citizens travelling alone. Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra emphasized creating an ecosystem focused on commuter dignity. Noted actor and brand ambassador Archita Sahu urged young commuters to familiarize themselves with these built-in digital tools. Beyond urgent assistance, this platform continues growing into a multi-service mobility hub. Residents can book rides, access Ama Bus networks, purchase FASTicket spot passes, and reserve boating facilities. By blending daily transit convenience with robust protective measures, authorities hope to guarantee a highly reliable transport network statewide.
