Subarnapur, Feb 5: A woman, accompanied by two associates, has been apprehended on charges of purportedly murdering her partner in Odisha's Subarnapur district.
The accused has been identified as Jhili Mahapatra of Deogarh district and her two companions Rita Nayak and RajivKumar of Birmaharajpur. The trio have been produced before court.
According to the information, the accused Jhili was in a relationship with one Dambru Adhikari of Saleipadar village for the last five years. However, recently she came to know that Dambru was cheating on her with another girl. Jhili, in a bid to take revenge, planned to kill Dambru. She got in touch with Rita and Rajiv and offered Rs 40,000 for the work.
According to their plan, on January 26, Rita and Rajiv invited Dambru on the pretext of attending a marriage party and killed him.
“A murder case was registered on January 26 in Subalaya station regarding the death of Dambru. Based on the complaint, police started an investigation and nabbed Rita and Rajiv. After primary interrogation, our team found that it was a case of murder and the mastermind is Kajal Mahapatra alias Jhili. The trio have been nabbed and investigation is on to ascertain more details in this regard, said police.
