Sundargarh, Sept 20: In a disturbing incident of Kangaroo court, a woman was publicly stripped naked, paraded through the streets, and brutally beaten by her husband for allegedly being involved in an extra-marital relationship in Timna village under Bargaon police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

According to reports, the woman was accused of being involved in an extramarital affair with an unmarried youth from a nearby village. The youth had been staying at her house for the past four days, after which villagers caught them together and organized a kangaroo court.

Both the woman and the youth allegedly confessed to the relationship during the proceedings.

The villagers then notified the woman's husband, who works in Bengaluru. Upon learning of the incident, he returned home on Wednesday.

Angered over the incident, the woman's husband publicly stripped her naked, paraded through the streets, and brutally thrashed her.

The matter came to light after a video of the assault went viral on social media, drawing widespread outrage.

However, Bargaon police station IIC Balunkeswar Nayak stated that no formal complaint has been filed regarding the incident so far.
