Balasore, Jan 16: A woman allegedly attacked her parents with a knife after they asked her to stop talking on mobile phone leaving them critically injured last night.
The incident has been reported from Hatigadiya village under Soro police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district.
As per reports, the accused identified as Kuni Singh (20) was talking with someone over the phone for a long period of time. A heated exchange of words ensued between Kuni and her mother Buduni Singh as the later repeatedly kept asking the former to stop talking and eat.
Kuni got infuriated over this and attacked her mother with a knife. The woman also attacked her father Ranjit Singh when tried to save Buduni. The couple sustained critical injuries in the attack.
Hearing their screams, some neighbors came to their rescue and alerted Soro police.
Upon getting the information, police rushed to the spot and rescued Ranjit and Buduni. Thereafter, the couple was rushed to the Soro Community Health Center (CHC) for medical attention.
Ranjit was later shifted to Balasore Hospital as his health condition deteriorated.
Although no complaint was filed against the accused till the filing of this report, the cops have detained her for questioning.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
