Bhubaneswar, June 16: A college student was allegedly gang-raped at Gopalpur beach in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday. According to the complaint, the woman was visiting the popular seaside destination with a male friend when a group of men attacked them.
The assailants reportedly restrained the victim’s friend before sexually assaulting her. Following the incident, the survivor lodged a formal complaint at the Gopalpur police station on Monday.
Police have detained seven individuals for questioning in connection with the case.
Gopalpur beach, known for its scenic beauty, attracts tourists from across the state and beyond.
