Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: A white tiger cub passed away at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
The news was confirmed by the zoo authorities.
According to officials, the cub, born on June 7 to tigress Mousumi, after mating with tiger Rajesh, had been unwell since birth.
It was placed under special care at the zoo's veterinary unit, separated from its mother. Unfortunately, the cub succumbed to its condition on Saturday night.
With this loss, the white tiger population at Nandankanan now stands at five, while the overall tiger count is 28.
