Bhubaneswar, October 8:The scheduled student union election at Vyasanagar Autonomous College in Jajpur district was cancelled on Thursday after miscreants allegedly hurled crude bombs on the college campus, officials said.
Following the incident, the college authorities issued a notification cancelling the election after the election and academic committees unanimously decided to call off the polls, they said.
The college will remain closed until further orders, according to the notification. Students residing in the hostels have also been directed to vacate the premises by Friday morning.
The decision was taken as a precautionary measure following the bomb attacks on the campus, officials said.
