Odisha Vigilance raids Sundargarh Project Director over DA allegations

Sundargarh, Oct 9: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Friday conducted simultaneous raids at eight locations linked to Prasanna Patra, Project Director of the Sundargarh Watershed Project and Deputy Director of Soil Conservation, over allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The raids began early Friday morning following an order from the Special Judge, Sundargarh. Vigilance teams searched his government residence in Sundargarh town, along with other locations in Sundargarh, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The operation was carried out by a team comprising one Additional Superintendent of Police (Additional SP), four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 13 inspectors, five Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) and other supporting personnel.

During the search at Patra’s government residence, vigilance officials reportedly seized several important documents. The scrutiny of the documents and other materials recovered during the raids is currently underway.

According to Vigilance officials, the exact details of the assets allegedly acquired by Patra will be established after the searches are completed and the seized documents are thoroughly examined.
