Balasore, Jan 13: A Vande Bharat Express train was stranded for nearly two hours on Sunday night due to a mechanical failure. The down train, operating from Puri to Howrah, came to a sudden halt near Badhei Sahi, about one kilometre before Soro railway station, after its pressure pipe reportedly burst.

The incident occurred around 9 pm, bringing the train to an abrupt stop. Two passengers sustained minor injuries after falling inside the coach due to the sudden braking. Preliminary reports suggest that the damage to the pressure pipe may have been caused by stone-pelting by miscreants.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has launched an investigation into the matter. The train resumed its journey at around 11.20 pm. The incident caused panic among passengers, who also faced inconvenience during the prolonged halt.
