Bhubaneswar, April 12: Vigilance sleuths on Saturday apprehended Pabitra Mohan Panigrahi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) at Chitrakonda Block in Malkangiri district, in an interception case.

After the interception, simultaneous searches were conducted at 2 locations linked to Panigrahi, AEE. During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth crores in the name of Pabitra Mohan Panigrahi, AEE and his family members were unearthed:

•  One 3 BHK Flat with area approx 1500 sqft. at Nandadevi Apartment, Damana Square, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
• 2) 4 high value plots including 2 in Bhubaneswar, 1 in Bargarh town and 1 in Aska town, Ganjam.
• 3) Gold jewelry weighing approx 270 gms.
• 4) Cash Rs.13,04,200 (during house search from his residential house at Bhubaneswar) + Rs.5,07,000 (from personal search)= Rs.18,11,200 total cash seized from  Panigrahi.
• 5) Investment in different Insurance policies worth overRs.72.20 lakhs. Other deposits are under verification.
• 6) 1 four wheeler (TATA Nexon Car). The investigation of the case is in progress.

Pabitra Mohan Panigrahy joined in Govt. Service on 20.11.1996 as Junior Engineer-cum-Estimator in the office of P.D, DRDA, Sonepur. He was posted to Polasara Block, Dist-Ganjam, Jharigaon Block & Umerkote Block, DistNabarangpur, Kashinagar Block, Dist.Gajapati, Rairhakhol Block, Dist-Sambalpur and Banapur Block, Dist-Khurda as J.E. Thereafter, on 05.01.2023 he was promoted to the rank of Asst. Engineer and joined at Chitrakonda Block, Dist. Malkangiri. While he was continuing as A.E, on 17.03.2024 he was promoted to the rank of Asst. Executive Engineer and was continuing at Chitrakonda Block, Dist-Malkangiri till date.
