Bhubaneswar, April 29: Additional Chief Secretary (Housing & Urban Development Department) and IDCO Chairperson Usha Padhee on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive field visit to the Kalinganagar industrial region in Jajpur district to assess land development, strategic infrastructure initiatives, and the progress of key urban development projects in the district.
The visit began with an inspection of nearly 600 acres of land at Alijanga, followed by a review at Sukutijhara to evaluate the readiness of these zones for industrial expansion. Accompanied by District Collector Ambar Kumar Kar, Kalinganagar Additional District Magistrate Sapan kumar Nanda and senior officials, Padhee later visited Tata Steel DB Plot No.-2, where she was received by representatives of the district administration and Tata Steel to participate in a series of scheduled engagements.
In addition to the industrial review, Padhee also assessed the implementation of ongoing urban development projects and flagship schemes across the district, with a focus on strengthening urban infrastructure, service delivery, and improving quality of life in emerging industrial townships.
Padhee also chaired a high-level strategic meeting at the KNDA Conference Hall. The meeting focused on the development trajectory of the Kalinganagar National Industrial Corridor (KNIC). The deliberations involved detailed discussions with the District Collector, officials from IDCO, and the District Investment Promotion Agency (DIPA), with emphasis on streamlined land allocation, infrastructure provisioning, and alignment of industrial growth with essential urban services.
