Mumbai, Jan 30: After a couple of victories, Odisha Under 23 women lost to Rajasthan by 4 wickets in the One-Day Trophy played at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy (Bandra Kurla Complex), here on Tuesday.
In the low scoring tussle, put into bat, Odisha could manage only 142 runs in the allotted 50 overs losing 9 wickets.
Alipsa Biswal, who scored an unbeaten 57 in 97 balls with 5 hits to the fence, was the lone ranger for Odisha.
Towards the end, Odisha vice captain Taranna Pradhan contributed useful 20 runs (in 30 balls), with two boundaries.
For victorious Rajasthan, ASP Maheshwari (3/36) and Archana Yogi (2/12) were the key performers with the ball.
Chasing only 143, Rajasthan too faced a few hiccups. But Diksha Saini played a matured knock with controlled aggression to see them home. She was not out on 65 in 127 balls, when Rajasthan hit the winning runs.
In Rajasthan's total of 146/6 in 47.5 overs, DR Kanwar had a valid contribution of 23 in 42 balls.
Odisha bowlers led by their pace spearhead Taranna Pradhan (2/26 in 10 overs) and Suryasnata Swain (2/28 in 9.5 overs), though tried hard to defend their small total, but could not.
Rajasthan's Diksha Saini stood like a rock between Odisha's fight back and Rajasthan's victory. She ensured that her side reach the target with 4 wickets in hand and 2.1 overs of play still remaining.
