Odisha: Two killed in bus-bike head-on collision in Boudh

Boudh, Aug 8: At least two youths were killed after a bus collided head-on with their motorcycle near Gajarajpur village under Baunsuni police limits in Odisha’s Boudh district late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Amit Jhankar of Pingalabeda village under Baunsuni police limits and his nephew Siddhant Pradhan of Krushnapali village.

As per reports, the mishap took place at around 2:00 AM on Thursday when the duo was returning home on a Bullet motorcycle and were hit by a private passenger bus named ‘Raghunath’, which was traveling from Bhubaneswar to Umerkote.

Both riders sustained critical injuries in the collision. They were immediately rushed to the Baunsuni Community Health Centre (CHC). However, despite medical efforts, the doctors declared both of them dead.

Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the bodies. Subsequently, they were sent for post-mortem.

A case has been registered and both the bus and the motorcycle have been seized. Detailed investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
