Bhubaneswar, April 13: There will be a gradual rise in Maximum temperature (Day Temperature) likely by 6-8°c during next 5 days at many places over the districts of Odisha, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.
It has issued warning for a second spell of heatwave for Odisha from April 14. Hot & humid weather condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Nayagarh, Boudh, Angul and Khordha on Sunday.
Similarly, heat wave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Nayagarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Angul and Dhenkanal on Monday, the IMD added.
The flow of dry, hot westerly-northwesterly winds towards Odisha is expected to gather strength from Sunday onwards and push mercury further up, said weather expert Dr Surendranath Pasupalak.
After thunderstorm activities across Odisha, maximum temperature had dipped by 7 degrees to 8 degrees C at many places in the state. Now, it has risen again.
Bhubaneswar recorded 36.2°c, Balasore 36.4°c and Chandabali 36.8°c by 11.30 AM today.
