Odisha: Three youths killed as car hits bike in Rayagada

Rayagada, May 21: In a tragic incident, at least three youths were killed after their bike was hit by a car on the bridge over Bansadhara River under Gumuda police outpost in Odisha's Rayagada district on Wednesday.

The deceased youths have been identified as Bulu Sabar and Subrat Sabar, residents of Kaithapadara village under Gunupur block, and Balakrishna Arka from Jagannathpur village.

According to reports, the three boys were riding a bike back from the Thakurani Yatra when a speeding car crashed into them and drove off. 

The impact was so severe that they were thrown from the bike and died on the spot.

Upon getting the information police arrived at the spot, and took stock of the situation. The cops then seized the bodies of the victims and sent them for post-mortem.

An investigation has been initiated into the matter. Efforts are on to trace the vehicle and the driver involved in the hit-and-run, said the police.
