M.Rampur, May 15: In a tragic incident, another teacher died after falling ill during election duty in Odisha’s Kalahandi district just days after two presiding officers succumbed to accidents.

The teacher identified as Makardhwaj Nag, a teacher hailing from Goudpada in M. Rampur of Kalahandi district. Nag, employed at Regeda High School in Karlamunda block, was deployed as a presiding officer for the Junagarh Constituency during the first phase of elections on May 13.

Reports indicate that Nag fell ill while on duty at the booth and was promptly rushed to Junagarh Hospital for treatment. Despite efforts to save him, Nag tragically passed away on Wednesday. His body has been sent for autopsy, after which it will be handed over to his grieving family.
