Bolangir, Nov 11: Bolangir police today arrested a Supply Assistant of Budula Panchayat under Agalpur police limits of Bolangir district on charges of raping a widow and sharing her private video.
The accused has been identified as Girishchandra Sahu, who had lured the widow on the pretext of giving her rice under PDS (Public Distribution System) but took advantage of the situation and repeatedly raped her.
He is also accused of recording intimate videos of the victim without her consent.
The situation escalated when the widow confronted Sahu at the panchayat office, where she physically assaulted him with her slipper. This confrontation was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Sahu at a relative's house in Chhattisgarh.
Further investigation is underway.
