Odisha State Bar Council Chairperson Sitanshu Mohan Dwivedy, following a crucial meeting has urged Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to fulfil the legitimate demands of the working Advocates to ensuring their social & financial security.

The council has demanded Rs 9 lakh pension or cessation allowance instead of Rs 6.30 lakh for the legal fraternities along with a provision of Rs 50 crore to the Lawyers’ Welfare Funds, to be utilized at need.

Underlining various problems that the working Lawyers face during their function, Council Chairperson Dwivedy said, the Council, with its subsequent submission had urged the CM for Rs 9 lakh pension to the Lawyers. However, the government approved 40 percent hike in it amounting to Rs 6.3 lakh.
